Cinesite has been awarded a major contract for work on the new Twentieth Century Fox film,\u00a0X-Men: First Class. The new film is the prequel to the X-Men series of films and is due for release in June 2011.<\/p>\n

Cinesite has assigned Matt Johnson as visual effects supervisor on the film, with Anthony Zwartou as CG supervisor.\u00a0X-Men: First Class is directed by Matthew Vaughn of\u00a0Kick-Ass fame with John Dykstra as visual effects supervisor on the production. Dykstra has an outstanding visual effects track record including\u00a0Inglourious Basterds,\u00a0Hancock,\u00a0Spider-Man and\u00a0Star Wars: Episode IV \u2013 A New Hope. Cinesite\u2019s work on\u00a0X-Men: First Class will commence shortly with Johnson on set at Pinewood Studios working closely with Dykstra on Cinesite\u2019s sequences.<\/p>\n

Antony Hunt, managing director of Cinesite, said this would bes the fourth film in the X-Men franchise that Cinesite has worked on. “We\u2019re very proud of our strong relationship with Fox, for whom we\u2019re also currently working alongside Walden Media on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cinesite is also currently working on Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (Warner Bros.), \u00a0John Carter of Mars (Disney\/Pixar), Battle: Los Angeles (Sony\/Columbia) and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Disney\/Bruckheimer).<\/p>\n
