The prize followed a clutch of awards for the film at the annual Visual Effects Society awards, which also saw MPC and Framestore win gongs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/firedbydesign.com\/fbdimg\/2011\/02\/Inception.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6123 lazyload\" title=\"Inception\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/firedbydesign.com\/fbdimg\/2011\/02\/Inception.jpg?resize=700%2C344&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"344\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/firedbydesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Inception.jpg?w=700&amp;ssl=1 700w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/firedbydesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Inception.jpg?resize=520%2C256&amp;ssl=1 520w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/firedbydesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Inception.jpg?resize=692%2C340&amp;ssl=1 692w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 700px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 700\/344;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>DNeg has enjoyed a long relationship with Inception\u2019s director, Christopher Nolan, having worked on Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (for which DNeg\u2019s VFX Supervisor, Paul Franklin, was nominated for an Academy Award), and this strong relationship led to the company creating the vast majority of the VFX with New Deal Studios supplying the miniatures.<\/p>\n<p>Inception presented a mammoth creative and technical challenge to Double Negative, calling for mind-bending visual effects, such as the city of Paris folding in on itself and the creation and destruction of the modernistic Limbo city, and has been critically acclaimed since its release.\u2028\u2028<\/p>\n<p>Double Negative also made a big impact at the 9th Annual VES awards which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles earlier this month, winning 3 awards for Inception. The company won awards in the following categories: Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual-Effects Driven Feature Motion Picture, Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture and Outstanding Compositing in a Feature Motion Picture.<\/p>\n<p>New Deal Studios also won the VES award for Models and Miniatures for Inception.\u2028\u2028\u201dWe\u2019re thrilled for the winners and the entire team on Inception,\u201d said\u00a0DNeg\u2019s CEO, Matt Holben. \u201cEverybody at DNeg works hard to create the finest work we can and these awards are a great tribute to the team effort as well as each individual. We\u2019d also like to extend our congratulations to Christopher Nolan on receiving the inaugural VES Visionary Award and thank him for the opportunity to work on such an amazing film.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Holben added: \u201cWe\u2019re incredibly proud and excited to see so much of our work over the last year represented in the awards.
